Welcome to the Gaia Principles!

Our Mission is to guide humanity back to our natural state of wellbeing through the teachings, principles and timeless wisdom of Mother Earth (Gaia)

Over the last century, humanity has become more disconnected, sick and unfulfilled than ever. With every passing day we see the rates of obesity, mortality from disease, depression and anxiety raise at an exponential rate. If we compare these statistics to those of a hundred years ago, they are staggeringly different. Why is this? What has changed so dramatically over the last century to cause us to lose sight of who we are, to lose our inner sense of peace, belonging, community and love for ourselves and others? The answer is the industrial revolution and our subsequent disconnection from nature.

As our lives have shifted towards working more, traveling longer and generally being confined to offices, buildings and cars, we have lost touch with nature. Nature, Mother Earth, Gaia and our connection to her plays a vital role in our levels of stress, happiness, energy and peace. The magnetic grid of the Earth and the calming vibration of nature is what brings us back into balance. This balance only happens when we get back into nature, reconnect, slip off our shoes, dig our toes into the sand and take some deep breaths of the fresh air away from our phones, mobile devices and electronics. It is in these moments that we have clarity of thought, a release of built up emotions and a deep sense of compassion for all life on this planet.

Do you remember running around outside as a child, bare foot and always happy? We could spend hours playing outside, watching the trees, clouds, animals and insects. Being outdoors and connecting with the Earth gave us endless energy, brought us peace and grounded us. As we have grown up this has changed significantly. We almost always wear shoes, stay in the confines of our houses, cars, and offices and we have unknowingly prevented ourselves from connecting with the calming and nourishing vibration of the Earth. We are cut off from Gaia and her goodness and its time that we found our way back.

Everything in nature has perfect balance and harmony. There is no excess, no animals that are obese, no overpopulation, no unnecessary stress brought on by the mentality of needing to always have more, be more and strive for more. In nature, everything is perfect as it is, all are seen as enough and loved unconditionally.

Unconditional love and wellbeing is the way of Gaia. The principles on this website came to me one beautiful sunny day whilst meditating with my feet touching the Earth. I purposely asked to be shown what we need to know right now to find our way back to our natural state of balance, peace, love and wellbeing. The Principles that follow are what was shown to me in a series of vivid images, movie like playbacks and emotions. My only hope is that you leave this site with more hope, joy and excitement for life as well as wanting to reconnect with Gaia and remember that which you have simply forgotten exists within you.

In our physical world there is no greater place to observe unconditional love than to look to nature. Gaia is the ultimate showcase of unconditional love. She loves all animals, plants, all insects, life and all aspects that make up the Earth, equally and without judgement. Gaia does not berate a plant that grows crooked and shun it to a life without love, disconnected from the blessings she provides. Even with humans, despite the fact that we continually do things to harm nature and destroy the environment, Gaia's love is unconditional and so we continue to live, to have life and to be nourished by the air, the food and the energy that Gaia provides. Gaia’s love is unconditional, without exception. Growing up we rapidly learn to place conditions on love. This scenario grows and grows as we get older and before we know it we are holding back the most important love, the love for ourselves based on self imposed conditions. We are far more brutal on ourselves than we are on anyone else, we shame ourselves, impose guilt and withhold love from ourselves based on our actions. We have a great deal to learn from Gaia in this regard. If we look to her as a teacher and follow her ways we can slowly make our way back to a true state of peace and unconditional love for ourselves and those around us. We can inch by inch remove judgement from ourselves and others and learn to open up our souls and pour love into our own world and the world around us without conditions. We can learn to accept and love ourselves and others for where we are right now, on our journey and know that it is ok and we are worthy of love.

Within Nature, everything is always in perfect balance. From the opening and closing of a flower to receive light and then to rest, or in the movement and stillness of plants and animals, there is always balance. Left to her own harmony Gaia will always find balance despite outside forces. As an example, even with all of the pollution and plastics we have left in nature, Gaia has found balance by creating a fungi (Mushroom) that actually eats plastic. She will always strive and find balance, so that the Earth is in harmony. Scarcity, shortage and struggle are man made situations and states of mind. Within nature there is enough for all, there is abundance of life and food for all, Gaia ensures this.   Humans have created imbalance, we have created rich and poor, and lives of separation and status based on greed and ego. We also drive ourselves to complete exhaustion as we ignore our own balance. We spend too much time sitting in an office and not enough time moving. We spend too much time awake and taking action and not enough time in silence, meditation and inner reflection. True peace, true belonging and true happiness will always be found when we live our lives in balance. In TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) balance is represented by the YinYang symbol and it is believed that disease and discomfort comes about when there is imbalance. Too much fire and not enough water, too much masculinity and not enough feminine energy causes imbalance and thus physical, emotional or mental dis-ease. Gaia is the ultimate teacher to observe balance for without our intervention nature always finds balance and harmony. Should we simply take the time to connect with her, and ask to be shown the way she will show us how to find balance in our own lives.

The rose does not envy the bee, or wish that it could fly. The bee does not wish to be the wind or long to blow through the leaves of the tree. All life guided and connected to Gaia shows complete acceptance. Each life form knows that they are a small part of a larger purpose, a connected and divine piece of the puzzle and the are completely accepting of who they are and their role in it all.   We humans, do not often embrace acceptance. We have grown up surrounded by an ego driven society which is always comparative, competitive and does not praise and encourage the acceptance of who we really are. Each of us is completely unique, we have unique gifts, talents, personalities and quirks which make us who we are. Yet, we spend so much of our lives trying to be what we think the world wants us to be, instead of being vulnerable and brave enough to simply accept who we are. The world needs us to be who we are, not someone else, not some conformed clone of someones’s ideal imagery of who we should be but rather our beautiful, imperfect but absolutely incredible and divine selves. Gaia teaches us to be vulnerable, to have acceptance for who we are and that through her unconditional love, and our unconditional love to ourselves we can truly embrace who we were meant to be. Shine your light bright, be the change you want to see in the world and OWN who you really are.

Time a man made construct. Gaia does subscribe to the concept of time as we do, with Gaia there is no past, future there is simply the present. Sure, there is day and night, but that represents cycles of a process and is part of the absolute balance of all that is. Within nature, all animals and processes have complete presence. They are in the moment, carrying out their task or playing their role in the greater whole but they are completely present. The Sun does not worry about whether it provided enough light yesterday for the plants to grow or if tomorrow will be a good day, or whether there will be rain or cloud cover that could stop the rays from getting through. The Sun knows and trusts that now is the only moment that there is, and that all is taken care of. Everything in nature shows us this presence, this complete and undivided attention to the now.   In our daily lives we can easily become too focussed on what has been, or what will be and this causes us lose sight of the present. We often find ourselves spending our attention elsewhere and this causes worry, upset, discomfort, grief, regret etc. All of these “negative” emotions come up as a result of either spending our time and thoughts in the future or the past. Gaia teaches us that the only moment is now, and that right now in this moment everything is perfect and taken care of. This brings with it an incredible sense of peace, and also empowerment in realising that the only moment we can change is this moment right here, right now. Being present and giving the now our undivided attention unlocks a world of incredible beauty that we often miss, and gives us the power to transcend the past or future and live our very best life, now. Ask yourself this question “Right now, in this moment, is there anything missing or anything that I need to worry about?” If you really think about this, the answer is of course no. Right now, in this very moment everything is perfect. You are breathing, alive, well, peaceful etc. It is only when you think of what you need to accomplish tomorrow, and whether you will get it done that we start to bring about worry and other emotions which pull us away from this perfect moment right in front of us.

The Gaia principle of “Connect” is multi-faceted. Gaia calls out to us to reconnect with her, but it also speaks to us reconnecting with ourselves in the process of connecting with Gaia. Connecting with Gaia is massively beneficial to all of us as the energy of Gaia re-aligns our own energy to what its meant to be. We were not meant to spend our days in enclosed boxes, plastic cars, wearing shoes and walking on floors that disconnect us from the Earth, all while surrounding ourselves with electro-magnetic interference in the form of wireless, television, radio. We have essentially created a society where we are disconnected and all the additional energy waves man has made disrupt our our natural connection to the rhythm and vibration of nature.   The benefits of connecting with Gaia are countless. By simply taking off your shoes and walking in nature, whether that be on the beach, in a forest, or on your lawn, you immediately connect yourself with the balancing energy of Gaia. This energy which radiates from the magnetic grid of the Earth is essential to all life on Earth. Scientific studies that have found that grounding(connecting) with Gaia reduces stress, inflammation, anxiety and releases a sense of calm within us that promotes rest, deep sleep and overall wellbeing. Couple the connection to Gaia with the additional benefits of getting some vitamin D in the process (so important!) and the general stress reliever of just being in nature and the results will surprise you. Not only does this connection provide us with peace and energetic benefits but being out in nature also exposes us to a host of bacteria which are essential for the good functioning on our gut, which plays a vital role in determining our overall health and preventing disease.

When Nourish is mentioned, most people immediately jump to think about nutrition and food. The Gaia Principle of nourish is much broader than just food, although food is a part of it. Nourish speaks providing energetic support to every aspect of our life and in turn to the life of all that are connected with Gaia. Whether that energy is in the form of the food we consume to give energy to our cells, or the material we read to stimulate our minds, or the time we spend meditating, reflecting and going within to nourish our soul. All of these can be considered Nourishment, and what Gaia asks with this principle is that when we nourish ourselves, our needs and our desires, that we in turn recognize that we are indeed part of a greater whole, part of all that is and in doing so ensure that we nourish the world around us as well. This speaks to being conscious about what we do, what we eat, what we think, what we put on our bodies and the materials we use and that they are in the best interests of all.   Nourish the world around you as you nourish yourself, and the Earth will remain bountiful for all future generations. When you select a food to eat, is it food filled with light, that is both nourishing to you, and nourishing to Gaia? When you speak, are the words that come out of your mouth nourishing to both your energy and those around you? When you act, are you acting with love and kindness that not only fills up your own cup but also nourishes those around you with a high vibrating energy? With Nourish, Gaia asks us to be conscious, and to acknowledge that we are all one, that we are all connected and if we truly nourish and care for ourselves we are indeed nourishing and caring for the entire planet and all of its inhabitants. Just think of the ripple effect if one persons nourishing actions today, inspire the nourishing actions of those around them…
